GREAT MEN – ADVICE FOR #STARTUPS

GREAT MEN – ADVICE FOR #STARTUPS

Father’s day is amongst us this weekend and whilst most of you will be trying to find the perfect pair of socks and card to go with we thought we’d pick the best advice out there for start ups from extremely great men! We will admit that even though we’re an all female team their has been moments where we have all taken some inspiration from the likes of Bill Gates and binged watched The Apprentice to get our dose of Alan Sugar.

#StartUps – we’ve collated this advice for you so you don’t need to hunt the web! So sit back and enjoy…

1. “Don’t think, do.” – Jeff Curran, founder and CEO of Curran Catalog

Probably our favourite piece of advice. You can sit down and talk through a million idea’s, solutions and previous successes but what you need is something to sell. Set targets and see them through. Thanks Jeff!

2. “Don’t expect that anything less than hard graft is going to drive your business forward.” – Alan Sugar

3. “The way that I think about building a company is that it’s all about what change do you want to make in the world?” – Advice from tech giant Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg

4. “If you mess up, it’s not your parents fault, so don’t whine about it, learn from them!” Bill Gates

Mistakes are there to learn from and we all make them so don’t worry! New business is for failure (to some extent) especially within the first few months. Testing is absolutely necessary! Test your newsletters, your social media posts, tests your sales pitches and your descriptions! Everything at this stage is there to be tested so don’t worry if you mess up!

So now you’ve got some advice from great men go out there and do what you do best; Create and grow an amazing business!

And to all you fathers out there… have a wonderful Father’s Day.
